Pictor®
.. . .is a compact, powerfull optical measuring system with image resolution up to 1,3 megapixels (1300x1024). It's cnstruction allows it's deployment in harse conditions of industrial production. It also has many advantages over other optical systems.
Main system features:

Multi-purpose: system is not built for single-role use; it can be dismantled and used on another location for another task.

Independence: Pictor® is able to work without connection to a PC, image processing is performed in the camera itself.

Robustness: under conditions of normal industrial production (factories, production lines) the system is highly reliable, if equipped with special casing it can be mounted in extreme condtion environments.

Variability of available components: lenses for detection of microscopic objects or large areas, lighting in both visible and infra-red spectre etc.

Communication interface: digital inputs and outputs; Pictor® can communicate using industry-standard interfaces.

Easy programming: the programming environment is designed to allow system programming without any previous knowledge of programming languages; which means that basic tasks can be performed by trained operators.

Typical tasks for Pictor®:
Below you can find some examples of Pictor® deployment in everyday practise. Systems developed and delivered by us, together with custom-built and designed machines, have been serving to many of our clients for a long time. For a brief list, please see the References page.
Basic detection:
among basic processed tasks is parts completness check, parts orientation check on a product, cleanness or integrity check of products, quality and damage check, colour combination / shade check etc.

here is PCB parts completeness check and soldering quality check, measured by the amount of melting iron on the soldered joint. Bad soldering can be seen left, on the right there is OK piece.

Pictor® system is used for metal part (arm of a car axle) integrity check and search for cracks or ruptures.

part fitting check:
in this example, Pictor® system checks presence (fitting) of a spring inside product and it's correct position. Left to right: without a spring, correctly fitted spring, spring fitted but in wrong position.

Measuring tasks:
are another common and easy task for Pictor® systems. With telecentric lenses, Pictor® can achieve up to 1µm precision! Common tasks are for example precision measuring of object's dimensions, object geometry checks, or precise obejct shape checks.

Character recognition (OCR)
Pictor® system has got implemented character learning&recognition funcion. Large character set (not limited to aplhanumeric characters) can be stored in camera. Pictor® thus can replace human control on positions like serial number checks, sortin according to type number, stamping/printing quality check etc.
code searching and reading
Pictor® system consisting of two cameras with appropriate lenses and lights is used to search for and read codes stambed on metal castings. Reading camera is on the left, searching camera is in the right corner; detail on the reading camera's light:
